With over 30 years of innovation in electro-optics, we deliver mission-critical technology trusted by defense and security professionals globally.</p><p><br></p><p><b>About the Role</b></p><p>We’re looking for a highly organized and proactive <b>International Logistics & Compliance Coordinator</b> to manage<b> global import and export operations</b> from our headquarters in <b>Woodbridge, ON.</b></p><p>This is a hands-on, detail-focused role ideal for someone experienced with international air shipments, trade documentation, and compliance with Canadian customs and export regulations.</p><p><br></p><p><b>Key Responsibilities</b></p><p><b>Import Operations</b></p><ul><li>Receive, review, and process import documentation (bills of lading, air waybills, commercial invoices, packing lists, certificates of origin).</li><li>Communicate with suppliers and overseas agents to ensure export documentation meets Canadian customs requirements.</li><li>Submit documents to customs brokers and follow up to ensure timely clearance and delivery.</li><li>Monitor entries in CARM (CBSA Assessment and Revenue Management) to ensure all import transactions are processed accurately by brokers, and develop subject-matter expertise in CARM processes.</li><li>Maintain compliance with CBSA regulations, Incoterms, and internal SOPs.</li><li>File and track claims for cargo damage, delays, or shortages.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Export Operations</b></p><ul><li>Prepare export documentation, including commercial invoices, export declarations, certificates of origin, and packing lists.</li><li>Manage outbound international shipments, primarily via FedEx, UPS, and DHL air courier services.</li><li>Monitor shipments through courier portals and proactively address delays or documentation discrepancies.</li><li>Ensure full compliance with Canadian export control laws, controlled goods regulations, and destination import requirements.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Documentation & Compliance</b></p><ul><li>Maintain accurate, organized records of all import/export activities and support periodic internal audits.</li><li>Verify courier, brokerage, and freight invoices for accuracy and coordinate billing details with accounting.</li><li>Stay informed on changes to Canadian export laws, U.S. import tariffs, and international trade regulations.</li><li>Support ISO 9001:2015 documentation and compliance standards.</li><li>Proactively inform management of key regulatory or logistical developments.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Internal Coordination & Continuous Improvement</b></p><ul><li>Collaborate with sales, accounting, and management teams to resolve shipment or billing issues.</li><li>Develop an understanding of GSCI products to ensure shipments include all necessary tools and components.</li><li>Identify opportunities to improve logistics efficiency, documentation accuracy, and compliance processes.</li><li>Take initiative—act to prevent problems rather than waiting for direction.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Physical Logistics & Handling</b></p><ul><li>Assist with packing, loading, and unloading shipments to ensure orders are complete and properly prepared for transport.</li><li>Travel occasionally to the outside storage unit to pick up or drop off extra parts, tools, or materials - a personal vehicle is considered an asset for these tasks.</li><li>Ensure all handling complies with safety protocols and company standards.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>Qualifications</b></p><ul><li>Minimum 2 years of experience in international logistics, trade compliance, or import/export operations.</li><li>Strong knowledge of Canadian import/export procedures, CBSA customs processes, and Incoterms.</li><li>Proven experience managing air freight shipments via FedEx, UPS, or DHL.</li><li>Experience with CARM or the ability to quickly become a CARM specialist.</li><li>College or university degree in Business, International Trade/Commerce, Law, or equivalent experience.</li><li>Fluent in English (spoken and written) with strong communication and documentation skills.</li><li>Highly organized, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.</li><li>Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a forward-thinking approach.</li><li>Self-motivated, detail-oriented, and dependable under pressure.</li><li>Ability to lift boxes of up to 20kg.</li></ul><p><br></p><p><b>What GSCI Offers</b></p><ul><li>Comprehensive benefits package (medical, dental, vision, and life insurance).</li><li>Shorter workdays every Friday, year-round.</li><li>A stable, growth-oriented workplace where precision and accountability are valued.</li><li>The opportunity to support advanced technologies used by defense and law enforcement professionals worldwide.</li></ul>Create Your Resume First
