<h3>Job Description</h3><p>Job Description<p>Salary: <br /><p><strong>Program Description</strong></p><p>Bedford House is a Community Residential Facility (CRF) that provides housing, ongoing support, supervision, and connections to appropriate community services to men who are on federal conditional release. Staffed 24 hours a day, Bedford House is communal-style living.</p><p><strong>Job Overview</strong></p><p>The Relief Support Worker is responsible for the day to day shift duties of the facility which includes supervision of residents and facility in accordance with written policy, perform all general shift duties, maintain flexible approach in meeting the needs while maintaining the safety of the community, provide positive role modeling, maintain strong communication links and a teamwork approach, be prepared to deal with routine/crisis situations, and maintain strong written/verbal communication.</p><p>The Relief Support Worker must have strong communication skills and ability to work in a team setting. Some Post-Secondary Education or equivalent experience. Good verbal and written communication skills; problem solving, decision making skills and the ability to set and maintain professional boundaries.</p><p>Supervision of resident activities both in the house and the community is also an integral part of the position. Working from a trauma-informed practice is imperative to the role. As this is a residential facility, other duties will be required, including basic household chores, and administrative duties. </p><p><br /></p><p>The Relief Support Worker will have relevant post-secondary education and/or relevant experience. They will demonstrate an understanding of the criminal justice system. The successful candidate will have strong boundaries, effective communication skills, as well as crisis prevention and intervention skills along with the ability to problem solve. In addition, the ideal candidate will be available to work all shifts including overnights and have a current criminal record check.
