Reporting to the <strong>Commercial Property Manager</strong>, you will be responsible for maintaining building performance and functionality which is critical to the operations of Northview&#39;s commercial buildings.</p><p><strong>Responsibilities</strong>:</p><ul><li>Routine building rounds and inspections of property systems and functionality</li><li>Groundskeeping and occasional landscaping work in all seasons may be required</li><li>Maintaining washrooms, i.e. functionality of toilets, taps, partitions & lights</li><li>Organize tools, supplies, ladders, etc.</li><li>Change lights and ceiling tiles as needed</li><li>Check all emergency power packs and exit lights</li><li>Ensure safety standards are met</li><li>Respond to service calls for tenants and emergencies</li><li>Travel between buildings during working hours may be required</li><li>Performing routine inspections of mechanical systems, and checks of HVAC, electrical and plumbing systems, etc.</li><li>Paint mechanical room, utility rooms, and common areas as needed</li><li>Maintain cleanliness of all mechanical and utility rooms i.e. dusting off equipment, sweeping and mopping floors</li><li>The successful candidate will assist the Building Operators in achieving a high standard of workmanship, time management, and customer satisfaction</li></ul><p><strong>Qualifications:</strong></p><ul><li>Experience with Commercial and mixed-use properties is considered an asset </li><li>Have a good working knowledge of electrical systems, carpentry, plumbing, and maintenance</li><li>Possession of or interest in obtaining a 5th Class Power Engineering Certification would be an asset but not required</li><li>Proficiency with power tools, front-end loaders, and other equipment is considered an asset</li><li>Strong communication skills and a proven team player with a positive attitude towards the team and customers</li><li>Must be flexible, organized, and able to coordinate multiple projects at once</li><li>Physical exertion including lifting and/or carrying up to 50lbs</li><li>Valid Class 5 driver&#39;s license with abstract required</li><li>Clear of relevant convictions and clearance of criminal background check </li></ul><ul></ul><p><strong>Benefits:</strong></p><ul><li>Competitive pay</li><li>Extended health care including medical, dental, and vision coverage</li><li>Life insurance, drug coverage, and wellness programs</li><li>Discounts on rent at Northview properties</li><li>Vacation Travel Assistance for Northern employees</li></ul><p><em>If your background matches the qualifications listed above and you are looking for an opportunity to make a difference in the communities we serve, please submit your resume in confidence</em>. <em>Please note, only those candidates chosen to continue to the next stage of the selection process will be contacted.
